Catching the big ones
The past two weeks have been fantastic for the big fish. My clients are catching fish in the eight pound range almost every day the last two weeks. I had a father son duo out last week and the son caught 4 fish over 10 lbs. The biggest in the 13 lbs. range. This was the best big fish day I have ever seen. The next day I had a husband and wife who caught two fish over 10 lbs. and two in the 9 lbs. range. Three days later i had a client catch a 12.10oz. monster. All these fish still havent spawned. The water got cold again this past Tuesday on the full moon and these fish just couldent do there trick. I think on the next new moon they will get the spawn done. We should then start to see the fish school up in the post spawn patterns. If you would like to come out and try and catch some big fish give me a call and we can try and beat the 4 fish over 10lbs. day.

Big fish moving
The big fish on lake Toho are moving. Last week my clients caught 4 fish over 10 pounds, 2 fish in the 9 pound range and 2 fish just over 8 pounds. All fish were released. This was one of the best weeks I have seen in a long time. The fish want to spawn but the water temp. is still to cold. This week we are getting more cold but I hope the next full moon the water temp will get around 70 degrees and these fish will do there trick. Once we get some fish to spawn we will get post spawners and they are my favorite fish to catch. These fish will get in schools and start feeding hard and heavy. Each year the best fishing I see is when we find the post spawners. We are mostly shiner fishing this time of year to catch the big fish but after the fish get done spawning the artificial bite should start getting better. If you would like to get in on some of the best fishing of the year give me a call and schedule a trip. Remember if you catch a big fish take a picture and let them go so someone else can catch a memory.
Good fishing Capt. Dean Puller
